After careful thought and meaningful conversations across our organisation, we are delighted to share an important update about the future of our workforce. From January 2026, CM Bespoke Care will formally adopt the title Care Practitioner for all care staff.

This means we will no longer use the terms carer, care worker, or healthcare assistant within our service.

This change is more than a new label—it reflects a reality we already know to be true: you are highly skilled professionals whose work demands expertise, judgement, and compassion. The outdated term “care worker” simply doesn’t do justice to the complexity of your role or the impact you make every single day.

Why We’re Making This Change

Too often, social care staff are grouped with “unskilled” roles by media and policymakers who do not understand the sophistication of modern care. That perception influences everything—from how government funds our sector, to how the public views your profession, to how new talent sees a future in care.

But the reality is very different, and you demonstrate this every single day.

You are professionals who:

  • Confidently operate complex digital systems.

  • Use advanced software to manage detailed, evolving care plans.

  • Analyse real-time information to identify risks and early signs of decline.

  • Provide safe, person-centred care using professional judgement and clinical awareness.

There is absolutely nothing “unskilled” about what you do.

What the Title Care Practitioner Represents

By introducing the Care Practitioner title, we are formally recognising:

  • the depth of your knowledge

  • the responsibility you hold

  • the standards you consistently deliver

This change marks the beginning of a structured career pathway within CM Bespoke Care—one that values your expertise and creates real opportunities for progression.

A Clear Path Ahead

Over the coming months, we will develop a defined professional pathway that includes:

  • Care Practitioner

  • Lead Practitioner (Senior Role)

  • Advanced Lead Practitioner

This progression route will support you to grow, develop, and advance based on your skills and commitment. It reflects what we have always believed: you have a future here, and your development matters.

Words Matter. Titles Matter.

If we want the sector—and the wider world—to value you as the professionals you are, we must lead by example. This rebrand is a significant step forward, and one that we are proud to take together.

Thank you for everything you do, every day. We are proud of you—and proud to stand with you as we take this exciting next step in the evolution of our profession.
